Message Stock early spoilers probably weigh 35 lbs. or more. They are monsters, filled with extremely dense heavy foam, and unless they were trying to change the weight distribution ratio, whoever designed them was simply not thinking. They are so heavy there are different hatch struts to handle all the extra weight. If you pluck that thing off the back and hold it in your hands you will probably be amazed at the raw stupidity of it. You might not want to know what is underneath it though, unless you intend to immediately spend at least $500-800 to either fill holes, repair any damaged areas, and paint- or install a fresh spoiler (which would weigh a lot less and be made of hollow fiberglass or plastic instead of 100lb boat anchor style foam). You may find rust holes, rotten foam, rusty metal, discolored paint and unless you have a parts car or find used, it is a huge expense to replace the necessary items to delete it from the hatch-two rubber trim pieces underneath that can be hard to save, the third brake light assembly, the third brake light harness, various clips, and Nissan logo and Twin-turbo logo do not come with the assembly, then you have to have someone fill a lot of holes and paint it. Personally, I like the 300ZX without a spoiler, no matter the cost or work needed...
